As part of Hexion Australia’s ongoing expansion, we’ve recently removed five major pieces of equipment from our existing plant — including our original K1 Reactor — to make way for a new, upgraded and significantly larger reactor.
Removing equipment from the heart of an operating plant is no small task, and this milestone was made possible by a dedicated team working across multiple companies, all coordinating closely to complete the job safely and efficiently.
And while K1 may have finished its days in its original role, it’s certainly not heading for retirement. After being thoroughly cleaned prior to removal, it will be repurposed elsewhere on site and given a new lease on life.
